Niet echt, Doe Maar was meer een band voor gillende meiden.

In a way, their succes was also their tragedy. They wanted to be a 'serious' band with 'serious' music for a 'serious' audience, but they attracted screaming teenage girls instead, who fell in love with the looks of the band members instead of the content of their lyrics/music.

When they did play for a 'serious' audience, like at the Pinkpop festival, it went wrong (see short video below, speaks for itself).

A Belgian band... Mar 23, 2021

Probably the only Belgian band I know, unless Placebo counts.

Have seen them in concert twice. Their tracks often start off relatively tame, so please be patient.

Two of my faves:

(though the end is too abrupt – album version is better)

Bach Mar 24, 2021

When I am not translating, but working on 'side issues', like administration, replying non urgent emails, etc., mostly in the evening, I pour myself a good glass of wine and listen to classical (guitar)music, like (see link).

Black Merda Mar 27, 2021

A band with an unfortunate, if not outright politically incorrect, name. Groovy as f*ck though...

Thanks for pointing out this song. It has led me to: The Oldest (Known) Song of All Time

Strange enough, parts remind me of Cat Steven's: Lady d'Arbanville - Live 1970 Studio Hambourg

They should get Ritchie Blackmore. That's his type of music these days.

Blackmore wouldn't get on with anybody. He forms his own bands.

Roger Daltrey Apr 15, 2021

I just saw somebody posted a Roger Daltrey number in another thread. I'm not a big fan of him personally, but I've always enjoyed watching his interviews.
This is an excellent interview conducted with the man (or any musician or celebrity):

And one for P.L.F Persio: Apr 16, 2021

I found them by pure coincidence and I love to listen to them, but also watching their video clips:

I'm sure you already know them.
