Source text - German Der starke Mann Russlands tritt wieder an: Staatschef Wladimir Putin hat - wie allgemein erwartet - seine Kandidatur bei der Präsidentschaftswahl im März 2018 angekündigt. Der 65-Jährige gab seine vierte Präsidentschaftskandidatur am Mittwoch bei dem Besuch einer Fabrik in Nischni Nowgorod an der Wolga bekannt. Mit weiteren sechs Amtsjahren wäre Putin dann bis 2024 Präsident.
"Ich werde meine Kandidatur für das Amt des Präsidenten der Russischen Föderation anbieten", sagte Putin vor überwiegend jungen Fabrikarbeitern. Für jeden, der sich zu diesem Schritt entschließe, gehe es um eine große Verantwortung, "weil die Motivation der Wunsch sein muss, das Leben in diesem Land besser zu machen, es stärker zu machen", sagte Putin in der live vom russischen Fernsehen übertragenen Ankündigung. Auf seine Frage, ob er die Unterstützung seiner Zuhörer habe, erntete er ein begeistertes "Ja" und tosenden Applaus.
Putin kann bereits auf drei Amtszeiten als Staatschef zurückblicken. Zunächst übernahm er das Amt von 2000 bis 2008. Weil die russische Verfassung dem Präsidenten nur zwei Amtszeiten in Folge erlaubt, übernahm Putin danach vorübergehend den Posten des Regierungschefs, während der heutige Ministerpräsident Dmitri Medwedew das Präsidentenamt bekleidete. 2012 kehrte Putin in den Kreml zurück.
Dass Putin als starker Mann Russlands eine weitere Amtszeit anstrebt, war lange erwartet worden. Seine Zustimmungsrate liegt trotz wachsender Probleme in Russland wie Korruption, Armut und schlechte Gesundheitsversorgung bei offiziell etwa 80 Prozent.
Putins wichtigster Gegner, der rechtsextreme Oppositionspolitiker Alexej Nawalny, darf wegen einer Verurteilung nicht bei der Präsidentschaftswahl antreten. Nawalny kritisierte im Kurzbotschaftendienst Twitter Putins Festhalten an der Macht: "Ich schlage vor, dass wir das nicht akzeptieren."
Nawalny hatte im März und im Juni zu Protesten gegen Putin und die Korruption in Russland aufgerufen, woraufhin zehntausende Menschen auf die Straße gingen. An den landesweiten Protesten hatten sich auffallend viele junge Leute beteiligt. Es gab hunderte Festnahmen.
Die größte Kreml-treue Partei Einiges Russland erklärte umgehend und wenig überraschend, dass sie die Kandidatur Putins unterstütze. Wjatscheslaw Wolodin, Parlamentspräsident und langjähriger Vertrauter Putins, zeigte sich "glücklich" über die Kandidatur. Der ehemalige sowjetische Staatschef Michail Gorbatschow sagte laut der Nachrichtenagentur TASS: "Die Gesellschaft ist heute dafür, dass Wladimir Putin Präsident bleibt, und das ist von großer Bedeutung."

أعلن حزب روسيا الموحدة وهو أكبر حزب موالي للكرملين على الفور وبدون دهشة أنه يدعم ترشح بوتين. وأعرب فياتشيسلاف فولودين، رئيس البرلمان والصديق الحميم لبوتين لفترة طويلة عن "سعادته" بترشح بوتين. كما قال رئيس الاتحاد السوفيتي السابق ميخائيل جورباتشوف لوكالة أنباء تاس: "المجتمع يؤيد اليوم بقاء فلاديمير بوتين رئيساً، وهذا له أهمية كبيرة".
