La Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) ha puesto en marcha a las tres de la tarde la Operación 15 de agosto, la más complicada del verano porque el cambio de quincena de vacaciones
coincide con un puente. De hecho, Tráfico prevé que se produzcan hasta 7,4 millones de desplazamientos. A lo largo de la tarde, la densidad del tráfico ha ido "aumentando poco a poco" según fuentes de la DGT y, a las 20.00, en algunas vías de salida de Madrid -como la A-6 y la A-3- se circulaba con dificultad.
Así, la circulación es difícil en la salida de Madrid por la A-6, donde el tráfico ha sido lento durante toda la tarde y a las 20.00 registraba retenciones con paradas esporádicas de cuatro
kilómetros, en las proximidades de Collado Villalba, y de tres en Guadarrama….
En la AP-7, a lo largo de esta tarde se han acumulado retenciones de hasta cinco kilómetros en el peaje de Tarragona, que a esa hora aún se mantienen. Otros puntos conflictivos se
localizaban en las carreteras más próximas a la costa, como Alicante, Málaga, Murcia, Valencia y Asturias, aunque la intensidad era menor. No obstante, las fuentes de la DGT han señalado que
la densidad del tráfico "empieza a disminuir" y se asemeja a la de cualquier fin de semana.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) began “The August 15th Operation” at 3:00pm. Due to the two weeks of vacation travel that coincide with a long weekend, this started the most difficult project of the summer. In fact, the Department predicted that 7.4 million trips took place during this time. Throughout the afternoon, traffic density had “increased little by little”, according to DMV sources and, by 8:00pm, certain off-ramps in Madrid (such as A-6 and A-3) were difficult to navigate.
Driving through the Madrid A-6 off-ramp is also difficult. Traffic has been slow all afternoon up until 8:00pm with recorded sporadic delays of approximately 2.5 miles in the
vicinity of Collado Villalba and 2 miles in Guadarrama....
On AP-7, throughout the afternoon, traffic delays have increased up to 3 miles on the Tarragona toll road and still persist even now. Other trouble spots were found on coastal roads such as Alicante, Málaga, Murcia, Valencia and Asturias (although these delays weren’t as intense). Regardless, DMV sources have pointed out that traffic density is “starting to diminish” and it seems like any other weekend.

I am a native United States citizen whose first language is English. I learned Spanish at a very early age and immediately fell in the love with the language. I decided to pursue Spanish Language Study in college and graduated with a B.A. in Spanish and a Minor in Latin American Studies in 2010.
I worked and lived in Madrid, Spain for 3 months during a State Department internship with the American Embassy. I had been translating documents for friends and family as requested, but when I finished my internship with the State Department, I knew I wanted to pursue translation as a career. I began to practice more professionally and started dedicating my time to its study and practice.
I officially launched my own translation business, René Translations, in September, 2012. In addition to launching the business, I also got accepted into New York University's Masters of Science Program in Translation. Grateful for the opportunity to learn all that I can and study with others who are also passionate about the industry, I have been investing all the time I can into pursuing my advanced degree and continuing to build up a professional portfolio of work.
I love what I do and take personal pride in every piece of work I take part in. I am a perfectionist by nature and love the diversity that translation offers. I never have to live the same day twice. I enjoy this industry very much and will dedicate the rest of my time learning and growing as a professional. After all, translation isn't just a career, it's a lifestyle. :)
