Source text - Indonesian Dalam dunia biologi, istilah kanopi bahkan sangat dikenal bagi siapapun yang punya hobi keluar masuk hutan. Di hutan hujan tropis, kebanyakan kehidupan tumbuhan dan hewan tidak ditemukan di permukaan tanah, tapi bisa ditemukan pada dunia dedaunan yang dikenal dengan nama kanopi. Kanopi yang bisa berada pada ketinggian 100 kaki (30 meter) dari atas tanah terbentuk oleh cabang-cabang dan deedaunan pohon-pohon hutan yang saling tumpang tindih. Kanopi ini jugalah yang membuat cahaya matahari sulit menembus hutan hujan tropis, yang selalu terjaga kelembabannya.
Kehadiran kanopi selain untuk fungsi melindungi, juga menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dari keindahan desain sebuah bangunan. Kini beragam model dan jenis kanopi sudah bisa ditemukan. Bahan pembuat kanopi pun mulai bervariasi, sehingga mudah dipilih sesuai selera dan kebutuhan.
Translation - English In the field of Biology, the term canopy is well-known to those that comes and goes into the forest as a hobby. In the rainforest, many of the lives of the flora and the fauna are found not on the surface, but can also be found in the world of leafage known as canopy. Canopy stands above the ground at approximately 100ft (30 meter), formed by branches and leaves of the forest trees that are overlapping with one another. Canopy is also the reason why the Sun can hardly penetrate into rainforest that strives to keep its moisture inside.
The function of the canopy, other than for protection, is also an inseparable part of the beauty of an architectural design. Nowadays, there are so many variables of canopy models that can be found. The production material varies, and can be adjusted on consumer’s personal taste and need.

Source text - English Africa's tropical forests include the Guinean Forests of West Africa and the Congo Basin, a sprawling rainforest often referred to as the world's second set of lungs. The continent's forests store 171 gigatons of carbon, are home to many plants and animals that exist nowhere else in the world and support an estimated 100 million people.
In the last 100 years, West Africa has lost about 90 percent of forest coverage. In many African countries the only forests left are reserved for permanent forestry, which means they are protected. Now in places like Ghana and the Ivory Coast we don't have any forest left outside the reserves and now even the reserves are being encroached upon and being degraded by excessive logging and exploitation. In the Congo Basin, where there are still forests outside the reserves, these areas are going very fast because of agriculture, commodity development and farming activity by small-holder farmers.
Translation - Indonesian Hutan-hutan tropis Afrika, termasuk juga Hutan Guinea di Afrika Barat dan Lembah Kongo, adalah wilayah hutan tropis sangat luas yang seringkali disebut juga sebagai paru-paru dunia. Wilayah hutan-hutan di benua tersebut mencadangkan 171 gigaton Karbon, dan merupakan rumah bagi berbagai macam flora dan fauna yang tidak terdapat di bagian dunia manapun yang juga membantu menyokong hidup sekitar 100 juta orang.
Dalam waktu 100 tahun terakhir, Afrika Barat sudah kehilangan sekitar 90 persen cakupan hutannya. Di banyak negara-negara Afrika, hutan-hutan yang tersisa direservasikan sebagai wilayah yang dilindungi. Kini, di daerah-daerah seperti Ghana dan Pantai Gading tidak lagi tersisa hutan di luar batas reservasi, bahkan wilayah reservasi pun kini sudah mulai dirambah dan didegradasi oleh penebangan liar dan eksploitasi yang berlebihan.
