I think this word is based on Catalan or Valenciano.

I found this definition in Spanish:

a) Solta: Arte de red formado por telas de forma rectangular, que forma una pared desde la superficie hasta el fondo y está provista de flotadores en la relinga superior y de lastres en la inferior. El extremo de tierra (cola) está amarrado a la costa y el extremo de fuera se dispone haciendo un arco de circunferencia
(rollo).

In the Web site below, you'll find a picture of the kind of net described above. The document is in Catalan but if you search in the document for "solta" it will take you to the page with the picture and, oddly enough, they put the word in English right under the picture.
