Science
Science (general)

Italian term (edited):
"animale motorio"
Selected
"motor animal"
since we have motor neurons, sensorymotor skills and so on, and in addition this is exactly your context, and last but not least you have it in brackets, I would stick to it

as an alternative you might try "animal of movement", but it doesn't sound much better to my ears

animal made for movement
although I wouldn't mind " a perfect machine made for movement" --- however, this would refer more to the body itself as a mechanical structure leaving the animal (living) out of the picture

: "motor" is a precise technical term, see my Luskie agree // Biological rather than just medical. I learnt it studying neuropsychology.

James (Jim) Davis
: Confusing, "motor animal" is clearer as in "motor disability" rather than "with motor disabilities" http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&=&q="motor... // suggests it might not have any, like a flower.

I don't really see how it could be confusing http://www.answers.com/topic/motor-ability
Just like "motor animal". I can't think of any animal that is not "motor"
