Could anyone imagine in those days addressing any of the staff by their christian names? Unfortunately relaying these tales to our children and now grandchildren only goes to prove to them that we are really ancient!

Yeah but they are really ancient there - 60 odd plus! Where do they come from????
Beats me!
I didn't think OAPs were even allowed in Dubai

Something that will make you seem (two centuries) older
This is about not being young and hip.

it makes you look positively antediluvian / like an old fogey
A couple more options!
Examples:
A few minutes later, out came a positively antediluvian couple. They were SO old, they couldn't even stand up straight.

Hell, Joe-- since you're older than me, you're lucky he didn't say you were "positively antediluvian!"

... and that fact makes me feel positively antediluvian. Look it up, it means really old. But, it was a formative year, for it was the year ...

They've installed all sorts of new technology, and it's making me feel like an old fogey. Not one piece of equipment has stayed the same ...

Hello,
That's the idea, I believe.
More literally, something that gives you a 2-century slap in the face
I hope this helps.

Thank you, Catherine! The other translations are forgetting the "rude awakening" or "slap in the face" idea. It's just not realizing you're age, but in a sudden, harsh kind of way.
