French term

responsable animations

French to English Bus/Financial General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters responsable animations
from a show contract for an amusement park:

Le Prestataire s’engage à nommer un Régisseur (stage captain), lequel sera l’interlocuteur unique du Responsable animations du Client pour toutes les questions relatives au suivi opérationnel sur Site des Prestations.

There is a reference to "animations de rue" ("street entertainment") earlier in the text. However, I'm not
sure if "animations" is referring to "entertainment" here or not....

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): cc in nyc

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Jeantrans I see what how that can be problematic for you. It is more problematic for anyone else to infer anything useful without the whole of the text! If you are simply looking for something more general, if that is where you think you need help, then SIlvester55 or Alain M may have the right idea... or not.
jeantrans (X) (asker) Apr 10, 2011:
Hi Nikki,

I understand what you're saying. However, what I meant was I wasn't sure if it the word was referring to the same thing here or something along the line of "project manager" or something like that ....
Nikki Scott-Despaigne Apr 10, 2011:
Question to asker You say that you are not sure whether "animations" refers to entertainment here, yet in the sentence immediately before, you say that it is a refernce to "animations de rue"? You have answered your question!
writeaway Apr 10, 2011:
please note this is not legalese terminology

exhibitions and fairs;
festivals;
conferences;
promotions and product launches;
fundraising and social events.
They work in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and can work for event management companies, in-house for an organisation or freelance.

The role of event organiser is hands-on and often involves working as part of a team. Event organisers must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. They must work well under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of an event.
Peer comment(s):

neutral writeaway : imo a mistranslation on both counts. organizer and event. animations are usually part of an event and the event organizer may actually appoint/hire the responsable animations
