Помогите, пожалуйста, разобраться с armyworm and cutworm, что здесь совка, а что гусеница совки или может что другое.

Разница лишь в названиях, значит перевести по-разному это нельзя. Значит нужно перевести так (я так думаю):
species of armyworm and cutworm (Noctuidae) = виды гусениц совки семейства Noctuidae (armyworm и cutworm).
Я бы привел их английские названия в скобках, чтобы не потерялась эта информация. Все словари дают чушь, они не видят разницы и переводят как совка или гусеница совки.
