Но я все равно склоняюсь к варианту "стимулирующий рост корней". Отсюда тоже:
There are many different designs of pots that will train the roots.
Все-таки упор делают на train, опять же root !trainers!
Перевода устоявшегося я не нашел, поэтому решать придется Вам. Я думаю, что перевод нужен более общий, без уточнения о подрезке и т.д.
