I'm stuck on this one. Any help will certainly be appreciated.
The context is an automated production line and this combination comes up a few times:
"abastecimento e desabastecimento de produção"

Abastecimento = supply, but let's say regular supply to contrast with desabastecimento.
Desabastecimento = shortage or lack of sufficient supplies. It's not the oppostie of supplying, that is, taking supplies away from the plant. It's shortage or insufficient supplies.
Desabastecimento = carência, falta de produto.

Discussion
I ended up using "stacking / destacking" because that's what they used later on in the text. It's one of those cases where it seems clearly they made a bad choice of Portuguese words "abastecimento/desabastecimento".
