English term

.43 of 1 cubic foot

English to French Science Mathematics & Statistics metric conversion
La moitié de Montréal travaille actuellement sur ce problème. Évidemment, il me faut une réponse en cm cubes ou en mètres cubes, mais surtout, une explication : pourquoi 1 pied cube n'est-il pas égal à un pied linéaire (0,02832 m3 et 30,48 cm respectivement) ?

maths

parce que 1 pied cube=1 pieds puissance 3 soit 0,3048m x0,3048m x0,3048=0.02832 m3
voilà ;-)

12177.6 cm3 or 0.012177 m3

1 m3 = 1m x 1m x 1m = 100cm x 100cm x 100cm = 1 000 000 cm3
if 1cf = 0.02832 m3 = (0.02832 / 1 000 000) cm3 = 28320 cm3

if 1 cf = 1 lf x 1 lf x 1 lf
then 0.43 cf = 0.43(1 lf x 1 lf x 1 lf)

hence 0.43 cf = 12177.6 cm3 or 0.012177 m3
