Spanish term

ombroclima

Spanish to English Science Geography climate
I'm proofreading a piece on essential oils found in thyme plants. The paper was written in English, but by a Spanish person, and they have included the word ombroclima. Does anyone know what this is? If it exists in English? Or should it be ombroclimate???
thanks
xx
Context sentence:
"Some studies (Sáez 1995) describe no correlation between altitude, climatic belts, ombroclima and the essential oil composition of Thymus zygis."

ombroclimate

ombro- appears in Oxford Encyclopedic as a prefix referring to "atmospheric moisture." So "ombroclimate" would be perfectly reasonable.

neutral Michele Fauble : 'Ombroclimate', as far as I can determine, is not used by native English speakers.

ombroclimate

"ombroclimate" means shadowy climate. It's the same root that gave "umbra" in English, so defined by Webster's:

umbra (umbre) pl. -brae (-bre) or -bras
n.
1 shade or a shadow
2 the dark central cone of shadow projecting from a planet or satellite on the side opposite the sun: see eclipse, illus.
3 the dark central part of a sunspot
4 [Rare] a phantom, or ghost
5 Physics a perfect or complete shadow, in which no direct light is received from the source of illumination
umbral
adj.

Etymology
[L, a shade, shadow]

Here are 3 refs. I think ombroclima was the translators invention.
The only refs I found using shade, were rain-shadow.
