Skóre je 9:4 (Praha má primátora, governor má na stránkách Jihočeský, Zlínský, Jihomoravský, Středočeský).
Mně připadá governor mnohem lepší, protože president koliduje s prezidentem republiky (v okamžiku, kdy v dále textu už nepoužíváte název kraje), ale zdá se že president převládá.

V Česko-anglickém právnickém slovníku (M.Chromá) je uvedeno chief executive (officer).
To je ovšem rok 2003 (vydání, sestavováno o rok dřív)
Mně připadá governor mnohem lepší, protože president koliduje s prezidentem republiky (v okamžiku, kdy v dále textu už nepoužíváte název kraje), ale zdá se že president převládá.

: president will not work at all, hetman sounds really weird. Tlumocil jsem 5 ceskym hejtmanum, kdybych je nazyval tak jak navrhujete, dlouho bych pro ne nepracoval. Pro kolik hejtmanu jste tlumocila vy?

Italové používají Presidente della Regione (doslova: prezident kraje), takže bych se přikláněla k "president" a řekla bych, že je důležité to, že je to nejvyšší představitel kraje. Pardubice mají také primátora, což je nejvyšší funkce na magistrátu, ale Pardubický kraj má hejtmana. Asi bych ale tuto funkci uvedla zároveň s názvem kraje, např. Pardubice Region's President. Náhodou jsem se docela shodla i se stránkami Pardubického kraje.

This is a good little "orisek"(between president and governor) because the official Websites of the respective regions seem to show both in equal number. ex. Zlin and South Moravian Regions - Governor, but Pardubice and Pilsen Regions - President. But taking into account the governmental context of the function, presidency seems to me to be a term historically reserved for the head of an autonomous country. See Wiki definition. President may lead to confusion, whereas Governor makes sense for the size of the territorial district begin governed.
