Překládají se místní názvy, jako např. Český kras, Pálava apod.? Mám za to, že ne, ale raději se ujistím, děkuji předem :)

Aha, more context! If it's for National Geographic, use the Czech (plus it's shorter). If it's for Adventure Time or whatever it is the kids watch these days, use the English.

yes, but this translation is going to be used as subtitles, where characters are limited to 35(42) per line,so there is no chance to have geog. names in two language versions

Obojí Pokud jsem u vlastních jmen na pochybách, vždy preferuju původní jméno, do závorky dávám případně vysvětlení nebo překlad jména.

It does not sound picky at all. However, there are other sites, too. I just think that whenever I can put someone out of their misery dealing with the ř, š, ý,á etc., I should do so :)

The Czech site is translated well, whereas the Wikipedia text has not been produced by a native. Make of that what you will.

Na druhou stranu... ...překlad jména Pálava by mne opravdu zajímal. Třeba Burnt Hills? :)

... Protože na stránkách třeba ČK je název ponechán, http://ceskykras.ochranaprirody.cz/en/ , ale třeba na wiki je překlad... tak opravdu nevím
