The clamp lock is a mechanical device for setting turnouts and locking and securing switchblades and crossings with movable points.
It locks the closed switch and the stock rail by a positive connection, but also fastens the open switch in its position.

The setting movement of the clamp lock is carried out by a switch machine or a manual switch-throw mechanism which engages in the slide rod of the lock.
