English term

create trial for

English Marketing Marketing / Market Research market study
"What these brands have in common is that they managed to leverage their heritage to create trial for themselves with consumers looking for new and unique experiences."

...in an analysis of the beverage market, where small import brands have been outpacing large domestic brands.

I'm totally unfamiliar with this use of "trial". Anyone care to enlighten me?

Many thanks,
Endre

persuade customers to try them

My condolences on having this awful stuff to translate.
What I think it means is that these brands can build on their past reputation to persuade customers to try their new products.

agree Suzan Hamer : My condolences also; why can't people write in simple English? (Oh yeah, then we editors would be out of work.) Both Juvera's and Jack's answers are good.
