ligature - to close vessels / tie off ducts
anastomosis - joining together two normally distinct vessels, spaces or organs
a stitch or series of stitches made to secure apposition of the edges of a surgical or traumatic wound
Abdominal wall closure- most commonly by continuous closure with monofilament suture
