ambulatory specialist or surgical procedures

All French procedures are coded with a "key letter" and a number, or rather a figure that allow to determine its cost for the patient (and the social security). i.e. K12 = value of K to date x 12 = XX euros.
K is used to code any procedure (from intramuscular or IV injection to stitches, EKG and many non surgical specialist procedures (endoscopy...).

non-invasive specialist procedures

The French system appears to have a whole set of codes for the different types of treatment. KC refers to surgery, whereas K refers to non-invasive specialist procedures.
