Sorry, can't think of an adequate term for "penetrante" in English: it means the main aisle by which one enters the store - plunging you into the heart of your shopping experience. I'm sure soemone else will suggest something better, but we are definitely talking SUPERMARKET not farmers' market here.

A "reserved backalley" for the marketting of fruits and vegetables. This whole sentence sounds like the definition of a Farmers Market.
I'm guessing the 'penetrating' part is a description of how the alley starts from main roads and extends into city blocks.

: I don't think it's a back alley - if it's penetrante - it may not been the main alley, maybe a secondary alley
