Speicher/Eingangsspeicher

Deutsch > Englisch Technik Computer: Hardware product description - Programmer
I posted " Speicher " and " Eingangsspeicher before seperately but am not convinced the solution has been found. Since I have gotten new insights since I have decided to do so again and to be as thorough as possible. The text where these two terms appears follows :

Robotics Voice-Modems gewohnte Freisprechfunktion "Speakerphone"
hat sich somit zum Komforttelefon gemausert. "

The word " speicher " must mean memory. I am not sure about " Eingangsspeicher though. It was suggested that it is " entry buffer" and the following website would confirm that ( http://www.imagingsolutions.ch/index.php?article_id=135&clan... ). It has an English version aswell which gives " Eingangsspeicher " as " entry buffer".

However, that makes no sense to me. The text refers to the already mentioned " speicher" ( memory" and that one can retrieve faxes from it. The following two websites are product descriptions. The first is German, talking about the "Eingangsspeicher", the second talks about flash memory in the same context. I think it must mean either memory or flash memory or maybe input memory?
I have a feeling that "Speicher" and "Eingangsspeicher" are the same thing but they used a different word for some reason.

German website ( http://www.computerwoche.de/heftarchiv/1997/36/1101006/ )
English website ( http://reviews.cnet.com/search-results/usrobotics-56k-profes... )

At the end of the text the word " Eingangspeicher" is mentioned again in the following sentence :

I am really stuck on this with a deadline fast approaching. I realise this is a longer than usual description, and I am not sure if I am allowed to post a question twice.
I would be very very grateful if someone could explain this to me.

Discussion

See the KudoZ rules for asking "2.9 Labeling of certain types of questions is required. Term questions that are either derived from a translation test, or which contain content that may be perceived as offensive by others, should be marked using the checkboxes provided in the posting form."

There is also an ethical issue with asking for a lot of help with a test translation, or using KudoZ exclusively to ask rather than answer questions. If I was your teacher or classmate, it is quite possible I would consider this cheating.
Markus Heinr (X) (asker) Jan 2, 2011:
@ Ramey Yes that helps a lot thank you :) A new lead to follow.
Markus Heinr (X) (asker) Jan 2, 2011:
@ Rosalyn Hi. If I knew where to mark it I would have done it by now, but as you said, it is my responsibility to make sure answerers are aware so I will find out. I'm sorry that I am evidently breaching some rules here.
784512 (X) Jan 2, 2011:
If this is that same test, you need to declare it Hi Xirod. I noticed a previous discussion on another question posed on KudoZ. As you have previously stated that this is an assessed piece of work, you really should declare that it is a question "from homework or a test translation" - so answerers at least are aware.
If you are needing to ask so many questions, perhaps some research tips may help? Have a look at the articles or ask in the forums for advice.

memory/hard disk memory

I just recently had my hard disk memory booster by a supplementary memory. The dealer spoke of the hard disk memory as "Eingangsspeicher" as it was built into the computer. The supplementary was just that, Zusatzspeicher. Maybe this helps......?
Something went wrong...
4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Sorry I can't give you more point. I said " initial memory" in the end, if you are interested."
