Clinical/lab testing
Here's one that I haven't been able to solve. The document is a Pruefplan for a study that tests the stability of these plates under lab conditions.
Context:
There is another document which describes a study on "opened" plates rather than "angesetzt". See below:
Dieses Dokument beschreibt die Durchführung der Studie zur Verifikation der Stabilität bereits geöffneter [brandname] Platten bei einer Lagerung von 4°C bzw. -20°C
I do not know if there is a specific laboratory term for this in English or what it would be, so I can't figure out if "angesetzt" just means something like "sealed" or "with the lid put on" or something more esoteric.
Thanks in advance to all the medical translators who could lend their expertise on this one!

prepared
I think "angesetzt" refers to "fertig pipettierte Reaktionsansätze in der Platte ", which means that all the components needed for the reaction are present in the plate already, that is the plate is prepared for the reaction.

I still think that "prepared" fits here, but in some of the sentences you mentionend you can also use "pipetting", "pipetted into the wells" or similar terms (but not in the sentence in your original question).

Note from asker:
Here are a few more points of context, and I only bring them up because "prepared" doesn't seem to fit quite right in some. Let me know what you think... Nach 30 Minuten werden die Reaktionsmixe angesetzt. Bei jeder Testreihe werden Reaktionsmixe für 8 ... Platten angesetzt. Das Ansetzen der Reaktionsmixe erfolgt nach Möglichkeit unter der Werkbank in Raum 102. Could it be that "angesetzt" means something like "placed onto/into a rack" or "placed in a well"? |

Comment: "Vielen Dank, Johanna, and to all the folks who lent their opinion! Depending on the context, the most fitting translations appear to be either "prepared", "pipetted" or "ready-made". I am contributing "pipetted" to the glossary because it is the most opaque of the possible equivalents."
