The writ which came to be called trespass did not become common until around the middle of the thirteenth century. The assize of novel disseisin and the appeal of felony were older remedies. The appeal was an action brought by a person aggrieved by the commission of a crime. By this procedure the felon might be punished (for example, by death, forfeiture to the crown, or possibly by maiming under the lex talionis—"an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth") but damages were not awarded. Hence, the appellor, while wreaking vengeance upon his adversary, received no pecuniary compensation for personal injuries unless, of course, the parties effected a compromise involving the payment of money. It seems that many appeals were thus compromised.
The assize of novel disseisin was an action for the recovery of land, and was instituted by royal ordinance in 1166. By the close of the century the disseisee recovered in this action not only possession of his land but damages as well.
[…] This general restriction on the issuance of new kinds of writs was seemingly modified in 1285 by the Statute of Westminster II, Chapter 24 of which provided specifically for three new writs and then concluded with the following general provision:
"And whensoever henceforth it shall happen in the chancery that a writ is found in one case, but none is found in a similar case falling under the same law and requiring a similar remedy, let the clerks of the chancery agree in making a writ; or let them adjourn the plaintiffs into the next parliament, and write down the cases in which they could not agree and refer them to the next parliament, and let a writ be made by those learned in the law so that for the future it shall not befall that the court fail in doing justice to complainants ..."

Source text - Russian Предполагаемая трасса магистрального нефтепровода проходит по территории двух субъектов Российской Федерации – Красноярскому краю (через районы Таймырский, Туруханский) и Ямало–Ненецкому автономному округу Тюменской области (через районы Тазовский, Красноселькупский, Пуровский).
Трасса нефтепровода расположена в северной части Западно–Сибирской низменности.
Для района характерны суровая, продолжительная зима, сравнительно короткое, но теплое лето, поздние весенние и ранние осенние заморозки, резкие колебания температур в течение года, месяца и даже суток.
В различных регионах, по которым проходит трасса нефтепровода, отмечены различные абсолютные минимальные и максимальные температуры воздуха, от min –60°C и max +33°C для северных регионов до min –55°C и max +36°C для южных. Средняя продолжительность безморозного периода составляет не более 88 дней.
В геоморфологическом отношении бóльшую часть района работ занимают морские и прибрежно–морские равнины с абсолютными отметками поверхности 40...120 м, расчлененные долинами малых рек и ручьев, местами заозеренные и заболоченные.
Отложения, слагающие равнины, представлены в основном суглинками, супесями и песками. На некоторых участках эти грунты перекрыты торфом мощностью слоя до 2,5 м. Верхние слои грунта характеризуются повышенным увлажнением.
В геокриологическом отношении рассматриваемая территория расположена в зоне развития многолетнемерзлых грунтов (ММГ). При этом севернее долины реки Варга–Корылькы наблюдается практически сплошное распространение ММГ, а южнее – массивно–островное.
[…] Диаметры труб определены исходя из следующих критериев:
1. Для технико–экономических расчетов, с учетом сложных климатических и геологических условий, на стадии ОИ принята I категория для всего магистрального трубопровода. На последующих стадиях (при разработке проектной и рабочей документации) категории участков нефтепровода уточняются по материалам инженерных изысканий.
2. В дальнейшем при выполнении теплогидравлических расчетов на стадии ОИ используются характеристики стали класса прочности К56.
3. Расчетная толщина стенки труб округляется в бóльшую сторону согласно сортаменту трубной продукции.
4. На последующих этапах работ, после выполнения исследований коррозионного взаимодействия товарных нефтей и смесей нефтей с материалом труб, может быть принято решение об увеличении толщины стенок с учетом коррозионного запаса.
С целью определения необходимого оборудования для перекачки и нагрева транспортируемых нефтей, выявления параметров работы оборудования, обеспечивающих нормальную эксплуатацию системы, установления требуемой толщины тепловой изоляции и решения ряда других вопросов была выполнена серия технологических и теплогидравлических расчетов. Моделирование нефтепроводной системы и расчеты осуществлялись при помощи программного комплекса Stoner Pipeline Simulator.
Translation - English The proposed trunk oil pipeline runs through two constituent entities of the Russian Federation – Krasnoyarsk Territory (Taimyr and Turukhan districts) and Yamal–Nenets Autonomous District in Tyumen Region (Taz, Krasnoselkup, Pur districts).
The oil pipeline alignment runs in the north of the West Siberian Depression.
The area features long cold winters, relatively short but warm summers, late spring and early autumn frosts, violent fluctuations in annual, monthly and even daily temperatures.
Regions the proposed oil pipeline runs through have recorded ambient temperature absolute minima and maxima ranging from min –60°C and max +33°C in the north to min –55°C и max +36°C in the south. Average frost–free period is 88 days.
Geomorphologically, the project area is mostly marine and coastal plains with absolute elevations ranging 40… 120 m, dissected by minor river and stream valleys, sporadically waterlogged and rich in lakes.
Sediments that the plains are composed of are mostly loams, sandy loams, and sands. Locally, these soil types are overlaid by a layer of peat up to 2.5 m thick. Top soil horizons have high water content.
Geocryologically, the study area under consideration lies within the permafrost zone: to the north of the Varga–Korylky river valley, permafrost is almost continuous, while to the south permafrost has an insular distribution pattern.
[…] Criteria below were used to specify pipe diameter:
1. For the feasibility study purposes, given the challenging climatic and geological conditions, the whole trunk pipeline was classified in Category I at the investment feasibility study phase. At subsequent phases (design and detailed design), categories of individual pipeline sections will be confirmed based on findings of engineering surveys.
2. For the purpose of thermohydraulic design at the investment FS phase, strength grade K56 was adopted for steel.
3. Design pipe wall thickness was rounded up according to the pipe nomenclature.
4. At subsequent phases, after a study of the corrosion interaction between commercial oil and oil blends with the pipe materials, wall thickness may be increased considering the corrosion allowance requirements.
A series of process and thermohydraulic calculations were prepared to specify the equipment required to pump and heat the oil to be transported, to choose the operating regime of the equipment required to maintain stable operation of the system, to find the required heat insulation thickness, and to address a number of other design issues. Stoner Pipeline Simulator software was used for oil pipeline system simulation and design.

Source text - English At present, the preferred option is concrete gravity dam with embankment dam sections at the extremities. The km–120 Site has been found to be the optimal location.
The embankment dam sections are rockfill with an asphaltic concrete core. According to Drawing 1866–9–11 Sheet #2, the left bank dam is 670 m long, whereas the right bank dam is only 278 m. The embankment would be built on overburden with a central cut–off trench excavated to the bedrock to accommodate the core and transition zones.
The overburden is glacial deposits. The site is located in an area of continuous permafrost. The depth of zero annual temperature change is 16–20 m, and the active soil layer is up to 5 m thick. There is up to 40% of ice in the soil, but no ground ice masses have been found, same as at sites km–35 and km–59.
It is presumed that the rockfill design was adopted due to the abundance of rockfill material at the excavation sites. The footprint of the asphaltic concrete core and transition zones is narrower than the foundation of the gravity dam. Consequently, with this option less excavation will be required. However, there are a number of issues that must be addressed.
The crest elevation is shown as being equal to that of the concrete gravity dam. Experience has shown that concrete dams can withstand moderate overtopping, but not earth and rockfill dams. For equivalent safety against a breach, the earth and rockfill sections should have larger freeboard than the neighbouring concrete section.

Насыпные дамбы предполагаются каменно–набросными с асфальтобетонной диафрагмой. Площадь, занимаемая асфальтобетонной диафрагмой и переходными слоями, уже, чем основание гравитационной плотины. В связи с этим объем выемки будет меньше. Однако требует рассмотрения ряд вопросов.
Отметка гребня плотины показана равной отметке гребня гравитационной бетонной плотины. Опыт показывает, что умеренное переливание могут выдержать бетонные плотины, но не земляные или каменно–набросные. Для предотвращения прорыва земляные и каменно–набросные секции должны иметь больший запас высоты гребня, нежели примыкающие к ним бетонные секции.

Source text - English Mid–ocean ridges are underwater mountain ranges that form where two tectonic plates separate.
As the oceanic crust drifts apart along a central spreading axis, the eruption of seafloor lava flows creates a long volcanic chain. New magma is continually added along the plate boundary, generating new crust that creates the floor of ocean basins. The magmatic system at ocean ridges supplies energy to drive seafloor hydrothermal systems, which accommodate one quarter of the heat loss from the solid Earth and control ocean chemistry. Age measurements of volcanic rocks at the ultraslow–spreading Southwest Indian Ridge indicate an unusually wide dispersal of freshly erupted volcanic material throughout the rift valley, possibly fed by magma flow along rift– bounding faults.
Six decades of surveying and sampling have led to models of magma supply and crystallization at mid–ocean ridges. However, geological mapping of seafloor eruptions is extremely difficult. On relatively young volcanic islands such as Hawaii or Iceland, individual lava flows can be paced out and sampled with a sledgehammer. The time of eruption of each flow can often be determined from historical accounts or by radiocarbon dating of suitable material. These methods do not work at submerged volcanoes. Only exceptional circumstances allow seafloor samples to be identified as the products of individual eruptions of known age.

Source text - Russian Образование Кодаро–Удоканской складчатой структуры происходило в результате архейских, протерозойских и древнекаледонских тектонических движений, в дальнейшем осложненных глыбовыми дислокациями.
В нижнем протерозое, в зоне удоканской серии, тектонические движения в центральной и восточной частях хребта Удокан выразились в образовании зоны синклинория и внутри этой зоны отдельных синклинальных и антисинклинальных складок. Углы падения пород в таких складках составляют 20–60°.
Основу тектоники района определяют разрывные нарушения раннепротерозойского, палеозойского, мезо– и кайнозойского возраста. Образование разрывных нарушений вызвано интрузиями пород и складчатыми дислокациями того времени.
Выделяются нарушения региональные, блокоразделяющие, глубинные первого и второго порядка (субмеридиональные, диагональные и широтные) и боковые разломы структурных форм, вызванные прорывами даек и внутриблочными напряжениями.
Формирование Удоканского хребта было вызвано поднятием (причем резким) местности в палеоген–нижнечетвертичное время. К этому же времени относится и заложение эрозионных форм рельефа (долины, возвышенности, отроги хребтов).
Молодые тектонические движения отмечаются в раннечетвертичное время в Нижне–Ингамакитской долине, где были разорваны межледниковые (казанцевские) отложения.
Translation - English Kodar–Udokan fold structure formed as a result of the Archean, Proterozoic, and Early Caledonian tectonic movements followed by block faulting.
Within the Udokan Series of the Lower Proterozoic, tectonic movements in the central and eastern parts of the Udokan Range led to the formation of a synclinorium zone composed of individual synclinal and anticlinal folds. Rocks dip 20–60° in the folds.
Tectonics in the area are controlled by faults of the Early Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic age. Faulting was caused by rock intrusions and fold dislocations of the same age. Structural forms are dissected by regional, inter–block, first– and second–order deep (N–S, diagonal, and E–W trending), and lateral faults, caused by intruding dikes and buildup of stress in the blocks.
Udokan Range was formed by a severe uplift of the crust in the Paleogene – Early Quaternary. Erosional topography (valleys, hills, spurs) is of same age.
Recent tectonic movements was recorded in the Early Quaternary in the Nizhny Ingamakit valley, where the interglacial Kazantsevo deposits became faulted.

Source text - English Radiometric sorting has been considered for a considerable period of time in the uranium industry and prior to the mid–1980s downturn in the industry, this concentration method was making significant inroads into flowsheets. Production units were installed at numerous plants and mostly treated ore sizes ranging between 25 to 150 mm. Throughputs of up to 100 t/h were achieved.
Radiometric sorting is particularly applicable to vein type of deposits where high grade material is discrete with the low grade material containing very little or no uranium. The sorting process for this type of ore, especially of a defined size range, normally achieves high recoveries. The benefit of this technology increases when the processing of the ore is more costly than the norm.
Plant capital or product based operating cost can be reduced significantly if this can be implemented successfully.
The Elkon project is ideally suited for radiometric shorting, with its ore body vein characteristics coupled with the relatively costly processing route of pressure leaching. It is no surprise that the testwork information supplied, indicates good recoveries on “in–pit” truck and ore feed sorting.
Comminution circuit configurations are normally determined by ore physical characteristics, ore variability, beneficiation– and leaching grind size requirements. Current operating uranium plants have a very wide range of feed sizes. Rössing Uranium employs a very course grind to minimise acid consumption while the South Africa uranium industry use a fine grind due to the gold recovery requirements. The Elkon flowsheet will most probably favour a relatively fine grind, considering the flotation–, autoclave– and possible gold recovery circuits. XXX has experience in all the different comminution circuit designs, including new or novel technologies, like high pressure grinding rolls (HPGR).

Неудивительно, что предоставленные результаты испытаний подтвердили хорошие показатели извлечения после первичной подземной сортировки и последующей сортировки поданной на поверхность руды.
Конфигурация цикла дробления, как правило, определяется физическими характеристиками руды, ее изменчивостью, требованиями к крупности помола при обогащении и выщелачивании. Действующие урановые комбинаты имеют очень широкий диапазон крупностей. Так, на Rössing Uranium применяют очень крупную руду для минимизации расхода кислоты, в то время как в урановой промышленности ЮАР принято применять руду тонкого помола в связи с необходимостью извлечения золота. Для Эльконского проекта, вероятно, предпочтительным будет относительно тонкое измельчение, учитывая характеристики процессов флотации, автоклавного выщелачивания и, возможно, извлечения золота. Source text - Russian Трудновскрываемые урановые минералы – браннерит, давидит и др., присутствуют наряду с уранинитом преимущественно в силикатных рудах месторождений брекчиевого и конгломератового типа. К первым среди наиболее известных относятся руды Olympic Dam и Roxby Downs (Австралия), ко вторым – Elliot Lake (Канада) и Witwatersrand (ЮАР). Конгломератный тип руды содержит уран в виде уранинита и браннерита, которым обычно сопутствует пирит и монацит. В России большая часть забалансовых запасов сосредоточена в метасоматических месторождениях Эльконского урановорудного района (53 % от отечественных запасов). Эти руды почти целиком сложены новообразованными минералами и представлены карбонат–полевошпатовыми метасоматитами, несущими вкрапленность урановых минералов, главным образом браннерита, и золотосодержащего пирита. Если присутствие браннерита в руде незначительно – до 5 % от общего содержания урана, то, как показывает опыт эксплуатации ГМЗ Olympic Dam, оно заметным образом не сказывается на технологических показателях переработки такого сырья. Однако, при более высоком содержании браннерита возникают серьезные проблемы. Извлечение урана из такого сырья по традиционной технологии становится нерентабельным в первую очередь вследствие повышения эксплуатационных расходов – стоимости реагентов (кислота, окислитель) и энергии (пар, сжатый воздух).
Translation - English Refractory uranium minerals – brannerite, davidite etc. – accompany uraninite mostly in silicate ores in breccia and conglomerate deposits. Best known examples of the former type include ores from Olympic Dam and Roxby Downs deposits (Australia), of the latter type – ores from Elliot Lake (Canada) and Witwatersrand (South Africa). Conglomerate ore contains uranium in the form of uraninite and brannerite typically accompanied by pyrite and monazite. In Russia, the bulk of non–commercial reserves are found in the metasomatic deposits of Elkon Uranium Ore District (53% of the total Russian reserves). Those ores are carbonate–feldspar metasomatites with disseminated uranium minerals, mostly brannerite, and auriferous pyrites and are almost entirely composed of neocrystallized minerals. If brannerite content of the ore is minor – under 5% of the total uranium content – the experience of Olympic Dam Project indicates that it has no major implications for ore processing performance.
However, where brannerite content is higher, major issues arise. Recovering uranium from that type of ore ores using the conventional process is cost–prohibitive, primarily due to higher operating costs, i.e. costs of chemical agents (acid, oxidizer) and energy (steam, compressed air).
