There are a few BrowniZ-hunters who drop agrees all over the place, obviously without being sure what they are agreeing to. But in 'my' languages at least there are also many people who add useful comments.
When they add 'neutral' or actually disagree, and must give an explanation, they often give useful distinctions and explain what expressions fit best in different contexts.

I've often wanted raise that point whenever I felt I was a "victim" of that bandwagon effect, but I didn't want to be seen as a sour grape.
I find that this happens especially when I've submitted a late answer, after an answer had already received 1+ agrees. People then looking at the question seem to assume that the first agreers had a good reason to "prefer" the first answer, so the agrees to that answer keep pouring in!

You will notice that two answers with very tiny differences will get lopsided support, not because of the bandwagon effect, but because in a complete evaluation that term beats the other with a single detail. This site is full of extremely educated professionals and I don't think they would compromise intellectual integrity for a couple Browniz. We shouldn't be too proud to admit when someone has beaten us.
