On closed questions, would it be possible to give a different color when your answer was selected?
Good suggestion! I will do that.
If the number of colors used increases it would be useful to have a legenda somewhere (bottom of the page?), just a little colored box for each color with a short explanation (pro, easy, squashed, your questions, your answers, etc...).

You asked for comments about the new lay out well... I am completely lost and the contrast of colours is very poor. I liked the green contrast before. My screen is very small and it is now just about impossible to see everything.
Good luck anyway | | | DGK T-I Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo Local time: 22:08 gruzijski na engleski + ... Some questions(question list)just have a little"crooked arrow"in the lang.pair/subject column.... | Mar 31, 2004 |

I do like the way it's much quicker to search on a particular language pair.

I am initially annoyed to have this deployed without any kind of announcement or change to try and comment.
For myself, I read KudoZ with 200% magnification in Netscape. Plus I read with only one eye so I am not crazy about anything that just makes the format wider. The previous format worked pretty well for me. I could not see whether a question was already colosed but that did not seem fatal.

I will give this a couple more tries to see if I missed some configuration options, but for myself, thumbs down. Sorry to complain like this but THANKS for asking. ▲ Collapse

option to name and save several queries | Mar 31, 2004 |
Okay, a second look and a thought about how I use Kudoz.
Why only one save button. Maybe I want to save several different queries.
There are several different queries I tend to repeat. So a fantasy would be to save several perosnal (or team) queries under different names and not have to respecify each of them every time I repeat them | | | Suggestions: differentiate language pair & field and eliminate the arrow | Mar 31, 2004 |
First of all, congratulations for the new design. I specially appreciate that now we can see the KudoZ list and filter the glossary to do searches in the same page. The tools at the top of the page are a powerful interface, though possibly a bit difficult to understand for members who are just starting to get to know the site.

One thing I would change is the way the language pair/field information is displayed. Particularly in the list showing all language pairs it is pretty confusing to have all this info together in one box, and not one box for language pair and the next for field, as before. I'd suggest to use bold for the language pair, so it stands out and gets easier to distinguish from the field info.
Giuli, the "crooked arrow" seems to be a "same info" sign, that is, to indicate that the language pairs and fields of those questions are the same of the one immediately above them. I don't really like how they look, though. I think they are visually disruptive and I wouldn't mind that the language pairs and fields are always listed, even if several consecutive questions belong to the same categories.

I think for my own problems it would be great to have the option of designing my own reports, fon instance instead of just saving pre-defined queries, also having the option of desiding what columns to show or not show.
Of course I know that might involve many mroe things than pre-canned reports. So maybe some kinds of configuration choices would have to be a Platinum only function. | | | lien Nizozemska Local time: 23:08 engleski na francuski + ... Very good and detailed | Apr 1, 2004 |

I'd like to change "Fields" from "My KudoZ Fields" to "All Fields". I can select the option I want from the drop-down menu, but I can't make it "stick." What's the secret?
I prefer to have "All Fields" displayed. The "View Questions and Save Settings" button, however, seems to work only for the "View Questions" part.
How can we keep the option "All Fields" always "ON"?
Thanks Henry & Co. for the kaizen
Elena | | | custom queries don't stick | Apr 1, 2004 |
SOmetime I like to query for all questions into a given language and then grade or propose answers as if I were working my regular pairs.
In the previous version I could get the list and then have the option to go back to my list instead of rerunning the query. Now I have to rerun the query.
Thanks for thinking about this option. | | | Caching problem - fixed now? | Apr 1, 2004 |

Did you not have to scroll with the old page, too? I tried to simulate your conditions, and I see that you have to scroll, but it appears that it is as it was before. No?
Update: I made some changes that should reduce the minimum width. Let me know if it is still too wide.

How to get a list of all your languages | Apr 1, 2004 |

Enter all those languages in your profile (enter them as "interest" languages if you do not work in them.) Then, select "my" languages inthe list page and click. The next time you do to the page, you should get a list with the same parameters you last searched for.
Please let me know if this does not work. | | | Could you help test, Elena? | Apr 1, 2004 |

douitashimashite. Are you sure your settings have not been saved? I checked the db and I see settings for you. To test, could you go to the following link and see if the search that comes up by default is the last search you did?

how can I access questions in all languages, of course, in easy and pro category. Previously, it was very easy to access that but now I am at a loss to locate the list of questions asked in respect of all languages despite experimenting a lot and spending too much time for the same.
Could someone please solve this riddle?
