"Error during call to extension function" in TagEditor Thread poster: Paul Merriam
|
Source file is Microsoft Office Word 2007. I'm using SDL Trados 2007. I translated the file and then attempted to "Save target as", and I get an error message: An error occurred during a call to extension function 'selectObjectFromList'. See InnerException for a complete description of this error. Any advice?

When you attempt to save the original file as target, after having opened it in Tageditor and translatiig one or two sentences in it, what happens then? Did you check all tags are in place?

Did you check all tags are in place? I translated every sentence in the file and saved it with a ttx extension. As far as I can see, all the tags are there (and TagEditor didn't tell me otherwise). I can close the file using the "close" command, but when I try to tell it "save Target as", it gives me this error message.

Copy the untranslated file somwhere else in your PC. Open this untranslated file in Tageditor. Translate the first sentence, using your TM. Move to the middle of the file, translate another sentence from your TM. Save the file as ttx (press CTRL+S). Go to File menu and try now to "Save target as...". Does this work?

I got the same result (but obviously, my sentences were 100% matches).

Or the filter you are using. Please go to talisma.sdl.com and look at article 2011. Install the patch offered there. If this does not help, try to save the docx in doc-format. Do you have Office 2003 on your machine?

Do you have Office 2003 on your machine? I saved the document in doc format and installed Word 2003 (in addition to the Word 2007 that was already there). I also went through the patch described in article 2011. It works now. Thanks an awful lot.

I am actually facing the same problem. I did what you advised... But it didn't work. I have MS Office 2007 and I am using Trados 2007 Freelance. The only thing I couldn't install MS Office 2003 on my PC... an official one. I installed the cracked version and it didn't work. Is it critical? Where can I download MS Office 2003?
