I absolutely agree with you,. Even if the work is not voluntary -- paid by some organizations or law firms, it is still very enriching. I realized it a long time ago, and you can feel the importance of the work even more working as an interpreter, because you are in direct contact with various people -- some of them felons, others crime victims, patients, or just ordinary people -- each of them with their own story.

It is always good to do some work pro bono as well.
