How does Wfp perform on big documents like this one?

Tasks:

  • Import the document.
  • Copy all source segments to the target side.
  • Replace all instances of 'das' with 'het', disregarding the case.

I'd be interested in the time needed for the replacement.

Scrolling in WFP8 is sluggish even for short files (you can see in the video how the mouse is "faster" than the scroll tab while I drag the scroll tab -- this happens also with small files). PgUp and PgDn is reasonably responsive on your file.

You can also see in the video that WFP8 doesn't load the entire file into memory (when you scroll to a point in the file where you haven't been before, it takes a second or two to load those segments into view, but it does seem to remember a few segments from where you visited previously).

What a fast import! Would that be because of the large amount of RAM?

Does your iMac have an M1 chip?

Yes, it's probably the huge amount of RAM and, no, no M1 chip, it's an Intel dated 2020.
