Mrs Amelia Aghaletan has contacted me via WhatsApp from Genius-hub company. She told me she had found my profile on the Translationdirectory website and wanted to confirm I could handle basic document translation from English to Spanish.
I told her I would start working as soon as she deposited half the money on my paypal account.
Her answer a day later:
Our policies are?
1.We don’t make upfront payments, full salary comes after a complete project
2.Project must be done within the given days
3. Incomplete project will not be accepted.
4.And you have make sure we are the only company you are with at the time, till your job is completed
5.payment will be made to you within 12 hours after your job is done
6.And please kindly stop biding for any more jobs. We need maximum concentration on this project
7.If having any issue talk to me your project manager for clarification, once you take this job we are regarded as an employee so please don’t let the job without completing it.
Hope you understand?
Since I could not find her in LinkedIn, her mail (no photo) "ends gmail" and she used it just once to send the document and this message "Your to submit the project on February 6, 2025." I grew suspicious.
Any ideas how to make sure that she is who she says she is and that I will get paid after translating the 34-page PDF?
