Spanish term

cuadre logico

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
This is a specific step in a procedure to verify the amount of cash in the pre-vault area. The three steps involved are:
1. Verificar el Cuadre de Valores 2. Realizar conteo físico de valores 3. Realizar cuadre lógico

I don't know what the third one means, much less how to translat it. I have found one example of this, but I still don't get it: ...procedimientos de cuadre lógico mínimos para que los datos que manejen tengan cierta coherencia.

The only other thing I can think of is that lógico sometimes refers to computers or to software.

Any ideas? Thank you!!!

Just saw this description of this step just ahead in the document: El Responsable de Pre – Bóveda realiza el cuadre lógico para que corresponda los valores físicos con lo expresado en el sistema. This corresponds with what Patricia said. Still don't really know how to translate it.

Thanks Patricia and Joss!
Patricia ONeill Jan 16, 2013:
I have seen similar expressions used when closing a cashier´s job for the day: el cuadre físico means you check the actual money to see you have what you expect, and el lógico means you check you have what the system says you should.

I guess 1. Check the value of the bills - $2, $5, $10; 2. Count the number of bills; 3. Multiply 1. by 2. to get the total of $.
How you translate it is another matter!

logical balance

This is purely a guess guess, since "cuadre" usually means to match, tally or balance things
(Cf. cuadrar vt -> cuentas, libros agree, balance)
I found it here:"...modern asynchronous circuits; arithmetic blocks; energy estimation and optimization; RF logic circuits; computer architecture; logical balance; CMOS logic ..."

I think you could conceivably use any of these.
Match = to correspònd
Tally = to agree or correspond: "both amounts should tally".
Check = to test or ascertain accuracy, quality, or satisfactory condition.

However, must admit I stopped doing finincail translations a couple of years ago because I was fed up with clients insisting on vocabulary I often considered too recondite forpurpose.
