Spanish term

movimiento en canon

Spanish to English Other Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
From a treatment by an Argentine director for a commercial for a foot deodorant:

Aquí comenzamos a introducir la coreografía. Haremos un recorrido a lo largo de varios pies haciendo un movimiento en canon como en la referencia. Por otra parte, veremos un plano cenital de pies creando alguna figura concéntrica.

Thanks

Discussion

lorenab23 Jan 31, 2018:
Here in English Planned choreography, in which a choreographer dictates motion and form in detail, leaving little or no opportunity for the dancer to exercise personal interpretation.[1]
Several underlying techniques are commonly used in choreography for two or more dancers:
Mirroring - facing each other and doing the same
Retrograde - performing a sequence of moves in reverse order
Canon - people performing the same move one after the other

lorenab23 Jan 31, 2018:
here we go ...puedes utilizar un elemento llamado canon, en el que un bailarín empieza una secuencia, un segundo bailarín empieza la misma secuencia pero después, así sucesivamente.
lorenab23 Jan 31, 2018:
Could it have something to do with this? I agree with Phil that "movimiento en canon" refers to the feet, since it says: Aquí comenzamos a introducir la coreografía.
Please see:
(It won't let me copy and paste but look under the sub-heading "diseñado")

I agree; if there is access to a visual reference that could probably answer it. I'd say in this context, if it is indeed referring to a camera movement, it would probably be a pan (or a truck as a second-best guess).
philgoddard Jan 31, 2018:
This may be unanswerable. I assume it's the feet that are making this movement, rather than the camera.
I initially thought "cannon", but that's "cañón". "Canon" means "canon" or "fee" or "tax", though it could be a mistake for "cañón".

Do you know what the "referencia" is? If this is a storyboard, does it have any visuals?

A movement canon occurs when dancers perform the same phrase one after the other. The phrase can be offset in a variety of ways similar to musical canons (for example, synchronized, simultaneous and augmented/diminished).
