"Defenses – Defenses are some reasons, which can lead court to found defendant not guilty. One of defense is duress – being forced to commit crime because of threats that you or someone else will be harmed if you don’t. Other is insanity. Person cannot be found guilty, if doctor says he can’t be responsible for his actions because of mental illness. Other defense is intoxication. There is usually missing mens rea, but if the person is intoxicated knowingly, he is responsible for his actions. The last is self-defense. Defendant must prove, that the force he used was reasonable to protect himself."
