Pour un devoir, dans le cadre de ma formation, je doit traduire une brochure sur l'agencement d'un atelier de menuisier. Il s'agit d'une plaquette illustrée, sans autres d'explication concernant le "leaning board".

Je comprends la structure for... + -ing comme signifiant « afin de... » (etc.). Si on retient votre interprétation, la syntaxe de la phrase serait fautive ; il manquerait un verbe : /Clear an area/ for/ leaning boards/ to stand??[ou autre verbe ?] /up against the wall.
