Ballast Water exchange procedures MUST account for the following conditions;
a. Avoidance of over- and under-pressurization of ballast tanks;
b. Free surface effects on stability and sloshing loads in tanks that may be slack at any one time;
c. Admissible weather conditions;
d. Weather routing in areas seasonally affected by cyclones, typhoons, hurricanes or heavy icing conditions;
e. Maintenance of adequate intact stability in accordance with an approved trim and stability booklet;
f. Permissible seagoing strength limits of shear force and bending moments in accordance with an approved loading manual;
g. Torsional forces where relevant;
h. Minimum/maximum fwd and aft drafts;
i. Wave induced hull vibration;
