English term

carbon nanotube array

English to Spanish Tech/Engineering Physics
Sorry, I know this is the wrong way around, but I thought I would probably find the answer this way in any case.

What word is used in Spanish for "array" in this context? I have come across a few options (matriz, conjunto, red,...), but would appreciate the opinion of a native speaker/expert as to which would be considered "correct".

Thanks in advance.

matriz de nanotubos de carbono

"Carbon nanotube array" usually refers to nanotubes that have been grown in alignment, perpendicular to a substrate like a forest. In this case the correct term in Spanish is "matriz de nanotubos de carbono". "Conjunto" would refer to a grouping of nanotubes, so they are not necessarily aligned or organized in a particular way. "Red" would imply that it is a network, perhaps like a cobweb.

The URLs below show an English to Spanish translation of an article about nanotube arrays from MIT's Technology Review. Hope this helps!

disagree M. C. Filgueira : "Array" no es una voz castellana. En este caso, el término correcto es "matriz". Saludos cordiales.
