I am the principal lawyer-linguist as well as the Director of Edin Training & Translations, a company specialised in Legal English Training and Legal Translations.

I am a fully qualified Dutch lawyer and practiced law for 5 years in the Netherlands. After working as an in-house lawyer at IBM and Vodafone, I was admitted to the Dutch Bar and subsequently worked as a solicitor/barrister at well regarded law firms Pfeil Heuts advocaten and Van Asperen advocaten.

During a following post graduate program of the British Council in 2003, I studied at the Faculty of Law of the Edinburgh University, enjoyed a placement at the Court of Session with the Honourable Lord Nimmo Smith and furthermore gained working experience in the UK as a lawyer with the respected law firms Balfour & Manson, McClure Naismith and Fyfe Ireland.

My additional teaching experience in Business and General English allowed me to create and develop the course method & manual “Legal English - A Practical Approach”, published in 2010 by the renowned publishing house Kluwer. The course method has already been put in practice by several Dutch universities.
