Bio
I am a passionate native
German translator and content writer, holding a "Magister" (former
Austrian Master's degree) in Translation Studies (French and Russian into
German). I succeeded in the Cambridge
English Proficiency (C2) exam and in the DELE C1 exam for Spanish.
My fascination for foreign cultures and languages keeps
growing steadily. After several stays abroad, including two exchange
semesters in Belgium and Russia, some summer jobs in Spain and France, an
internship at a language service provider the UK, a year teaching German
in Spain and 5 months of traineeship in the Directorate General for Translation
of the European Commission in Luxembourg, I am now working as a freelance translator and copywriter, a role which I really enjoy.
I consider it as my mission to tear down
(language) borders and to build bridges between people and cultures, by
creating accurate translations as well as by volunteering at and giving support
to integration projects and non-profit language learning programs.
Thanks to my Studies I developed a high
understanding of what translation should be: not only the transfer of a text
into another language with the correct use of words and grammar, but also the
transfer of the idea behind the text. Communication is the key to success, and
accurate and well written translations are the key to successful communication.
By now, I have used Proz to get answers to
translation related questions, to connect with fellow translators and to take
advantage of webinars and shared knowledge. I haven’t searched for new clients
here yet, therefore you can’t see any feedback from clients.
