In 2014, I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a 2:1 in French and Spanish and I also received a Distinction in my MA in Professional Translating for European Languages from Newcastle University in 2016.

I have spent time living in Spain and my knowledge of Spanish culture is constantly kept up-to-date with holidays, reading newspapers/magazines/books and watching television/films. I also spent 6 months in Geneva as part of my year abroad.

Throughout my studies I completed translations in various fields however my specialisms are  marketing, travel & tourism and food & drink texts.

As part of a previous employment, I completed translations of adverts for many international and world-renowned companies. These were both printed magazine/newspaper adverts, Internet adverts and YouTube video adverts. I am really interested in translation of marketing texts and want to learn new skills in transcreation.

I also enjoy doing legal translation such as rental agreements as well as birth/marriage/death certificates and criminal record checks.

One of my passions in life is food and cooking and I have a knowledge for the culinary world that goes beyond the average person. This makes me the ideal person to translate texts about food and drink or cooking, whether it be recipes, tourism articles or adverts.

I am always keen to learn new things and will relish the opportunity to research into the subject I am translating about. I set extremely high standards for myself and every piece of work that I complete is always done to the best of my ability.

I also pride myself on my proofreading ability and have been proofreading for the family business and spotting mistakes in newspapers, adverts, articles and websites long before I became a translator!
