Education

In 2018 I got a MA in “Translation and
Interpreting studies” in Rome at “UNINT - Master’s degree in Interpreting and
Translation” where I deepened my knowledge in ChineseRussian and English languages.
At the university I had also the occasion to attend a course in post-editing
which allowed me to get part in a research project, presented at TechLING’17,
aimed at demonstrating how post-edited legal texts, compared to human
translated ones of the same type, though requiring less effort in terms of
time, are more accurate, consistent and of higher quality. I think the
university I attended offers all you need from a translator, since not only are
the courses offered at UNINT designed to be truly job-oriented (as they deal
with real-life domains such as economics, politics, business, law, ICT, food
and healthcare) but they also aim at providing true knowledge of a large number
of tools which assist a translator’s work on a daily basis. In fact, I
currently master some of the mostly used CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio and SDL
Multiterm
) and at the same time have a discrete familiarity with some
programming tools (e.g. Gawk) which turn out to be crucial when
dealing with advanced text processing or other NLP tasks. During the university
I had different experiences as an intern, which helped me to get closer to the
translation and post-editing of legal and editorial texts.

Work experience

Between 2018 and 2020 I worked as a Marketing
Specialist
and a Translator Editor for a big company
in Luxembourg. To improve language quality and reduce time management efforts,
I wrote many guidelines, including a procedure to help proof-readers perform
their tasks and a guidance to language specialists in terminology
database-related issues. I also contributed to the language quality
improvement: in order to standardise the terminology for new features, as
Language Specialist I joined meetings with Native speakers
and collected crucial terms for technical-focused projects. From the beginning
of 2020 I decided to start my career as a freelance translator. Having managed
many translation projects, being also a Project Manager, now as a
translator I know how to meet quality standards and how to deal with time
crucial deadlines. As a translator, I am obsessed not only with quality, but
also with the purpose and the target of the source text, by delivering
translations with the same focus of the original but which also meet the
language, the culture and the norms of the local market. If you are looking for
a careful translator or proof-reader, you can rely on my experience, my skills
and my willingness to provide a text according to your criteria.

Concerning my experience in the gaming
industry, I translated two beta version games, a time management game and a
strategy game. In the first project I firstly adapted culturally crucial source
terms to the target culture and then translated the dialogues. In the second
project I proofread the Italian termbase before translating the game interface
texts. Besides that, I am also a game player so I take care a lot about
terminology accuracy.

My expertise fields are marketinggamingIT food and movies/TV
series
.

Please note that I am available to
take a free translation test.
