It is an incredibly exciting time for innovation. We stand at the edge of a new era of opportunity, one in which innovation is enabling us to collectively create compelling new possibilities to advance business and society, while addressing the most complex issues of our time.
The GIO is a reflection of this unique opportunity. We created the GIO in 2004 because we sought to develop a new approach to business and technology forecasting, one that would effectively identify critically-important emerging trends and opportunities for our clients, partners and ourselves.
We knew that to be valuable this new vehicle had to reflect a 21st-century model of innovation – it had to be open, collaborative, multi-disciplinary and global. And it had to create a foundation for us to collaborate with others to act on what we learned. The insights of the first two GIOs have not disappointed – they not only provided timely glimpses to coming trends, but they continue to illuminate our actions today.
You are part of this year’s program because we firmly believe you bring something unique and valuable to this new dialogue. While we don’t know where these vibrant discussions may lead, we do know that with your assistance, new possibilities will surface that may create fundamental new opportunities for our organizations in areas of policy, though leadership and market opportunity.

翻译文本 - English英语 If any one or more of the provisions contained in this Agreement or any document executed in connection herewith shall be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any respect under any applicable law, (i) the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions contained herein or therein shall not in any way be affected or impaired and shall remain in full force and effect; and (ii) the invalid, illegal or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid, legal and enforceable provision that comes closest to expressing the true intent of such invalid, illegal or unenforceable provision.
If any of the provisions of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable and unless the invalidity or unenforceability thereof does substantial violation to the underlying intent and sense of the remainder of this Agreement, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect in any way the validity and enforceability of any other provision of this Agreement except those which the invalidated or unenforceable provisions comprise an integral part of or are otherwise clearly inseparable from. That invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect any valid and enforceable application of the remaining provision, and each such provision shall be deemed to be effective, operative, made, or entered into in the manner and to the full extent permitted by law.
