English term

knock-out vessel

English to French Tech/Engineering Patents (in a patent) Method for treatment of a hot pyrolysis gas
In order to have a good separation between the gaseous components and the liquid components present in the effluent originating from the
first unit for particle removal and cooling the present inventors found that the effluent from said first unit for particle removal and cooling is preferably passed to a first knock-out vessel, from which first knockout vessel said gaseous stream is separated from said first condensed stream. In such a knockout vessel the pressure and temperature conditions are such that there are equilibrium conditions resulting in separation between a first condensed stream and a gaseous stream.
