Yesterday, I received the most recent issue of Jost Zetzsche's Toolkit, a wonderful computer newsletter for translation professionals. It always contains really useful information including links to free resources. In the last issue, I noticed Chemistry Formatter Add-ins for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (http://spectrum.troy.edu/~cking/ChemFormat/) and a sublink within it to ChemSpell, apparently a spell checker for chemical formulae. I installed both add-ins and initially saw them working fine. However, soon after that I found that my space bar was disabled, and now it only works when used together with Shift. This seems impossible to repair in Word although it works alright in all other applications! My colleagues and I tried every possible solution (including shortcut reassignment using Word settings) to no avail. I would be grateful for any hints on how to make the space bar operate normally.
