AVG no longer free

I had been using AVG for years, and the same thing happened three or four times. Whenever there was a new version, they "abandoned" the older one, and I had to download the new version. It was all free, I must say, and the older versions worked quite all right. I was even able to download the updates (though they said I would not be able to). However, I do not know what is the situation with v.9, since I've switched to Comodo a couple of months ago. I did it because of the high ratings on forums, cost (nothing) and it is a suite (antivirus, antispam, antiwhatever). It does pop up very often with things like "system is trying to modify mxfcga36dg.com", etc. but you cannot go without that, whatever you use.
Keep in mind that no single antivirus program keeps you safe from every threat on the Web, and the paid versions are better (though more demanding) than free ones. ▲ Collapse
