I think, it is not possible to use UNICODE. It works only for ANSI.
Is there any way to imporve this difficulties ?
Thanks.

It is certainly possible to search for Unicode. Maybe if you describe your problem in more details -- what exactly you are doing, and what happens -- someone will be able to help you. Make sure you've consulted the users manual first.

And, I assume you are using OmegaT, as in www.omegat.org , and not some other application.

Certainly not possible Jul 27, 2012

I am using OmegaT version 2.5.5 and Windosw Vista.
Unfortunately I have read all the contents of help file.
I found nothing special there.
It was too brief.
Lack of details.

I have searched some plain word (Korean) within a txt file, which is encoded with UTF-8.
(The searched-file is not in the project folder, it is somewhere else in my computer.)
Search word was very simple one. That was failed.
I used English word, this time succeed.

Then, I changed that file encoding to ANSI.
I got not a problem at all in both languages.

That is why I posted simple question about OmegaT Search function.

Use the appropriate extension for text files with UTF-8 content Jul 27, 2012

The OmegaT manual wrote:
Chapter 11. Working with plain text
2. The OmegaT solution
Change the encoding of your files to Unicode
open your source file in a text editor that correctly interprets its encoding and save the file in "UTF-8" encoding. Change the file extension from .txt to .utf8. OmegaT will automatically interpret the file as a UTF-8 file. This is the most common-sense alternative, sparing you problems in the long run.

If you apply the above part from the manual, it should solve your problem.

The other solution (if you want all .txt files to be interpreted as UTF-8), is to change the default encoding for the .txt extension in Options > Files Filters > Text Files.

you missed point Jul 27, 2012

Thanks for your precious time and efforts.

First of all, I am not translating plain text file.
My source file is .odt.
My concern and question here is all about using "Ctrl + F" function.
i.e. "Text search" as in the title of this post.

Second, the searched file's encoding is already not ANSI but UTF-8.

Last, changing the extension to .utf8 is not that much smart, convenient and general ways of working. Though it works fine

The "Text search" function has big problem.
I prefer to use SR32 or XBench.
