As usual, please forgive me if this is not the right forum, but there are to many fora to know exactly the correct one.
I've been receiving lot of spam in the last hour - I have my own domain hosted by proz, spam filter and Box Trapper ON - PLEASE, let me know what can I do for stopping the spam that reaches me as sent by me.

According to the messages received , I'm the one sending the spams to other people; e.g, someone supposedly called "Jeromy Razial" (a fake name, sure) is using my email address.

Some years ago I recieved lots of these, but then it stopped. Nowadays I get about one Viagra-message per day from my own email-address.

Not long ago, I received loads of e-mails whose sender appeared to be me as well.
With this little trick, you´ll realise that the culprit is most definitely someone else.
Open one of the e-mails and look for an option that allows you to expand all the headings (in my e-mails, I can see an option that reads "Encabezados completos" on the bottom right-hand corner). Once you´ve done that, you´ll see that the e-mail has been going around from s... See more Hi, Clarisa,

Once you´ve done that, you´ll see that the e-mail has been going around from server to server and that the real sender is someone far away (in Russia, probably).
The most likely reason for this is that at a certain point, you´ve become part of a chain of e-mails and that spammers then picked yours and loads of other addresses from there. As you are part of the chain, it gives you the impression that you were the sender, but that´s not the case.

Two cases:
- Around 2005 I received countless hate-mails as well as a ton of MAILER DAEMON messages. Countless Nazi-pamphlets have been sent in my name. I contacted the BKA (the German FBI) and the local police. It took less than 15 minutes and the cops were at my house. They take this seriously. We went through the files and I was working with their IT-department for quite a while.

- Around the same time I received approximately 100 emails per minute from whatever address. In this case it is a good idea to call your phone company and have them block this address and clean your mailbox. Worked well for me.
Other than that and due to the things that I had to learn the really hard way - my mailbox is absolutely spam-free. ▲ Collapse

It might be someone who has decided to use your email address, as you said.
You should also be aware that it could actually be your mailbox that is being used, hijacked by a virus. This happened to me once. I had a dial-up connection at the time, and noticed huge amounts of activity when I wasn't actually actively browsing. One of those adaware/hijackthis etc. type progs got rid of it for me. Just an idea.

Hi - I'm probably completely WAY off, but I'll add my experience to this too as it really was just terrible! It does sound to me too like a virus.
About 8 years ago I had what sounds like the exact same issue - I started getting nearly a hundred mails a day of mailer-daemon/undeliverable emails sent out from my address that I never sent. About 8 years ago I had what sounds like the exact same issue - I started getting nearly a hundred mails a day of mailer-daemon/undeliverable emails sent out from my address that I never sent. At first it was just the odd one or two, but it was non-stop after a while. I would also see mail bounce back saying it was blocked as it was dangerous - and it turned out to be a Trojan Horse virus! Basically, the virus gets in to you computer and starts accessing your address book to send out mail. It just spreads from there, your address basically is hijacked. I did not have virus protection at the time (or not enough of it) so I was able to get a free scan on an anti-virus site that identified it. However, the virus was designed to BLOCK downloading the tools to fix it. I'm no computer expert, but in the end I was able to download on to a floppy the fix tools from the anti-virus site on another PC and then pop it into my own to finally repair it.
The only thing that couldn't be fixed is your email address, as it will remain a host to the virus for sending out spam. You have to get yourself a new one.
And yes, I started paying for full anti-virus coverage since the day I got rid of the Trojan Horse! ▲ Collapse

One day I suddenly began receiving huge numbers of similar messages. My record for 1 day was 652 messages. I wrote to Support and they helped me to fix it. The main idea is to change the default address to 'blackhole' into which all of these letters vanish.
Here's a copy of the message from Support (actually they were kind enough to do it for me).

This should greatly reduce the frequency at which you see this type of message, if not wipe them out entirely.
I did this:
1) Logged into your cpanel interface.
2) Clicked the mail icon.
3) Clicked 'Default Address'.
4) Clicked 'Set Default Address'.
5) Entered ':blackhole:' into the form and click 'Change'.

I also edited my white list entering all my clients' addresses into it.

While the spams suddenly stopped, as foreseen by Heinrich, I activated the blackhole as suggested by Alexey, just in case. I've only received one more spam since that. That's great!
I also did a virus scan, and the log showed that there was no virus in my PC.
