Multiple Translations - how to activate?

Hi everybody,

please, does anyone know how to (in Trados 5.0, Workbench, TM options, Tools) select the option "Always add new TU when target segments differ" in the checkbox Multiple Translations?
The checkbox is just inactive in my case (grey). I cannot activate it.
Could I set "merge translations" or "leave unchanged" instead under Translation Memory options, General ?

You need to enable multiple translations when you create the TM Aug 13, 2004

Martina,

you need to enable "multiple translations" at the time you create a TM. That's the only place where you can do that, and then that checkbox under Translation Memory Options/Tools should be selectable and not grayed out anymore.

Since you cannot change that setting once a TM has been created, the simple solution is to export your TM, create a new TM, make sure the checkbox for multiple translations is checked (default setting is off, so you need to be sure to en... See more
