Hello,

I've started using Transit NXT recently and I have more than one PDF viewer programmes installed. When I select Print to File and then one of the "virtual printers" installed, I get a box asking me to name the file . After clicking OK Transit then seems to be generating a pdf file, but nothing happens after that. Would anyone know why this happens and how to go around it?

Thanks!

Look for PS file Nov 28, 2013

Try to search for a .PS file instead of .PDF.

When printing to file you often get a PostScript file (depending on the software), and then that file can be converted to PDF using Acrobat (just double-click the PS file if you have the required software).

To create a PDF file software often supports this using Save As.

Uncheck "print to file" option Nov 28, 2013

Hi Cris,

did I get it right that you have used a virtual printer (e.g. "PDF Writer") to create the PDF file?
If so, you have to UNCHECK the "print to file" option.

That may seem unlogical at the first glance, but should help... By that way, you should receive the PDF file directly with the .PS file deviation.

Please let us know it it works. If interested, I can explain why.

Thank you Nov 29, 2013

Thanks for all your input and sorry for not answering, but work got in the way.
It does work that way - the problem was I was so intent on having a pdf with the language pairs (paired) with the comments, that I did not even try that. Would you know how to get a file with the comments and with the source segment on top and the target segment just below? I've seen that and it's actually what I am looking for.

But thanks again, since this is a great start!

My bad!!! Nov 29, 2013

Please ignore my previous post - the answer was just staring at me.
And once again thanks for all your input - I did see on Transit help that the Print fo file option does not have an effect on virtual printers, so I could have probably gotten there had I been more focussed.
Have a great weekend, everyone, and those who took the trouble to answer in particular!
