I felt emotional exhausted more than once due to my personal life, but never because of work, though I felt extremely tired more than once having bit off more than I could chew (lesson learned!)

As a translator? Feb 7

Never.
Fatigue, and mild stress (self-imposed through making aggressive deadline choices), yes.
Emotional exhaustion? No.

If people think freelancing is emotionally exhausting, they should try working in a large office surrounded by noisy coworkers and supervised by demanding bosses.

(I suspect many people already have tried that, and that is why they are, understandably, freelancers.)

Never Feb 7

Work itself is my escape, while it’s the outside world that can be draining.
I believe work can provide structure, purpose, and even a sense of control, while personal life and social interactions can sometimes be unpredictable and exhausting.

Words are predictable, structured, and meaningful in a way that people often aren’t.
They don’t drain you, misunderstand you, or demand more than you can give. Instead, they offer clarity, purpose, and even a sense of control 😊

Translation is my passion. But sometimes my clients have urgent tasks, and I have to work overtime... Well, that's the life.

Well, Feb 8

The question sounds like as if nervous breakdowns were part of the job (how often ...).
Never had one, no burnout either. I always enjoyed my job, even when I had hard times.

And I guess it's just because I'm still building my client base.
